Toner and Ink is probably the most important, and least understood part of owning a printer. Everyone wants to save money, but what can you do without causing problems with your printer? Let me try to clear up some of the misunderstandings.

Every Owners Manual contains dire warnings that users of third party inks and/or toners may cause problems with their printer. That is true. Like everything else, the quality of the components is critical to how well they work.

Price is not the primary issue... quality is. A good quality third party ink will perform as well as, or even better than the original manufacturers ink. A good quality third party toner will provide better prints and last longer than the original manufacturer's toner.

The best way to know if you have a good quality third party ink or toner is to look at the quality of the output. If it is as good as, or better than the original, you probably have a good quality replacement. If it is light, spotty, uneven, or anything else, then you may need to look for another alternative.
